If you have views, then you'll need to add the "SHOW VIEWS" permission to the backup user.

You may also need some of the SHOW permissions. For mine to work I needed SHOW VIEW. I imagine it would be similar for SP but I don't use them on this server.

Thanks for the useful post! To automatically put the day's date in the output file, I add: `/bin/date +\%Y\%m\%d`. This looks like:

/usr/bin/mysqldump --user backup --password=XXX --all-databases --compact | gzip -9 > db_backup.`/bin/date +\%Y\%m\%d`.sql.gz

Wow! Congratulations! Not only is that a great honor academically, but also a wonderful Christian testimony. Other people are seeing Christ's Love coming through... Is there anything more exciting?
Congratulations once again,
Jayson

Hi, Daniel and Anastasia. This is Missy (Korando) Sherron. I was a couple years ahead of the two of you at PCC. Although we never hung out with each other, Anastasia and I had conversations in the hallways in Bradley sometimes, and I have thought of you, Anastasia, fondly since then. I am smiling now as I recall the first time I met Anastasia. Of course, I knew who you were before we met because of the Spencer Legacy, but we officially met in the elevator in Bradley Tower. It was the day BEFORE school was scheduled to start, and you stepped onto the elevator with your nose buried in an open Chemistry textbook. I said hi and asked you what you were doing. You told me that you were studying. I laughed and said something like, "But school hasn't even started yet." You looked up from the book and briefly nodded. Then we introduced ourselves, and I have felt friendly towards you ever since, even though, as I said before, we never actually became friends. I found this blog through the PCC Update, and I am very glad to learn that God has brought the two of you together. Isn't He wonderful! :)
